The  QUEEN CAT

Xena came to live with us in October of 1998, We adopted her from the Houston SPCA. Xena was named by our youngest daughter Jessica. The name she was given at the SPCA was Athena Kitty......not really my cup of tea, but Jessica heard that and then said...."her name is Xena?" and it was just so cute that it just sort of stuck!

On Halloween of 2005, my son took our youngest out out trick or treating.  Jessica called home and said "Mom, there's a lady who is giving out kittens with the Halloween candy!"  I immediately told her "NO WAY", but about 20 minutes later, she and her big brother come walking home with a tiny grey kitten in tow!  It was love at first sight for me, but my husband wasn't thrilled.  My son informed us that this was HIS kitten and he would be taking it back with him to his house.  3 days later she came to live with us, because his roommates already had 2 cats and they didn't want a third!  So, darling little Piper entered our lives, much to Xena's dismay, and has become a princess in training.  We can see Xena plotting our demise on a daily basis.  If she only had thumbs to open up her cans of food, she would have done us in by now!!!  A picture of Piper follows.  Click on the thumbnail.

Please check back often check out the new pictures!
